What is Blackboard Ultra?

Also known as: Blackboard Learn Ultra, Ultra Course View

Blackboard Learn historically had a single, dated UI now retroactively called "Original Course View." Anthology (Blackboard's parent) launched Ultra to modernize the experience and compete with Canvas. Many institutions run mixed deployments — old courses in Original, new courses in Ultra — because migration is complex.

Ultra's quiz engine handles the same question types as Original (multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, essays) but with different DOM markup, different paths through the interaction graph, and different error states. Tools that work on Original often don't work on Ultra without a separate adapter.
