What is Proctorio?

Proctorio is a Chrome extension proctoring product widely used in 2026. It records webcam, audio, and screen activity, and uses behavioral signals (eye tracking, head movement, environmental changes) to flag suspicious moments for instructor review. AI flagging produces "suspicion scores" that instructors then audit manually.

Proctorio offers configurable lockdown levels — at the strictest setting it can disable cut/paste, copy, right-click, dev-tools, and certain navigation.
