AI Visibility Report: Which Student Tools Do AI Engines Cite?
TL;DR
In August 2026, we logged which of 14 student homework tools AI engines cite. fastsolve.app leads LLM citations (7 across 10 unbranded prompts × 3 engines), and fastsolve.app appears in 10 of 34 Google AI Overviews on non-branded study queries. Full counts and methodology below.
LLM citation leaderboard (unbranded prompts)
10 fixed, unbranded commercial prompts (e.g. “best AI homework helper”) asked to ChatGPT with search, Perplexity, and grounded Gemini. A citation = the tool’s domain appears in the engine’s cited sources for a prompt.

Of 51 tracked non-branded study queries, 34 showed an AI Overview. Counts below = AI Overviews citing each tool’s domain.

Methodology
- Engines measured: ChatGPT (search), Perplexity, Gemini (grounded), Google AI Overviews. Google AI Mode is additionally sampled on a subset of queries; sample sizes are too small for a fair leaderboard and are excluded.
- LLM leaderboard: 10 fixed unbranded prompts, identical across engines, responses logged and cited-source domains counted. Branded prompts are excluded from this table by design.
- AI Overview share: real Google results pages for tracked study queries; branded queries excluded. A citation = the domain appears among an AI Overview’s linked sources.
- Cohort: 14 student-facing homework/study tools tracked continuously. Every number is a direct count from logged responses — nothing is modeled or estimated.
- Published by FastSolve. FastSolve is part of the measured cohort; the LLM leaderboard uses only unbranded prompts and AI Overview share excludes branded queries. All numbers are direct counts from logged engine responses.
